Biography
Vikram obtained his B.Eng (Hons) First Class in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering, from the National University of Singapore. He was the recipient of the Singapore Millenium Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship. His research is highly interdisciplinary, bridging condensed matter physics, materials science, and electrical engineering. His work on spintronic/2D materials provides a platform for innovations in both high-performance computing and applied sensor technology.
His research interests include:
- Neuromorphic Computing: Exploring how spintronic devices/2D materials can emulate the functions of neurons and synapses in the human brain. By developing components that exhibit memory and tuneable resistance, his research contributes to building brain-inspired computing hardware that is significantly more power-efficient for AI applications.
- Advanced Sensor Technology: Leveraging his expertise in magnetic materials and 2D materials to design and develop highly sensitive, low-power sensor technologies.
- Sustainable Agriculture: Developed of novel sensor systems that can be deployed for real-time soil analysis, water quality monitoring, and environmental control for sustainable farming practices.
